TWO swimmers of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Rutuja Talegaonkar and Rishika Bodele have been selected for the selection trials of World University Games which are going to be held at Chengdu in China in August.
 
The selection trials are going to be held at Jain University in Bengaluru from March 17. Rutuja, a student of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, had won silver medals in the last year’s Khelo India Games. She had won the silver medals in 200m freestyle, 400m medley, 200m medley, 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 188m freestyle. Similarly, Rishika, a student of Taywade College, Koradi, had won bronze medal in 50m freestyle. She had also won three gold, two silver and a bronze medal in the All India Inter-University Swimming Competition held at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar. Rutuja will be appearing for the trials to get selected in the Indian University team in 400m individual medley, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle events while Rishika will take part in 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke events. Amol Raipure will be the manager of the two-member RTMNU swimming team.
