In a bid to review government schemes and programme, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain held a meeting with all Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, Superintendents of Police (SPs), Chief Conservators of Forest (CCFs) and Jila Panchayat Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) through video conference at Mantralaya, Nava Raipur in Atal Nagar on Tuesday. Chief Secretary Jain has directed the officers to expedite the implementation of the government schemes and programmes on priority.
 
Preventive measures for Covid pandemic, Godhan Nyay Yojana, pending parole cases before judicial magistrates, arrangements for drinking water in summer, plantation in the coming rainy season, Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Narva, rainwater conservation, custom milling, covid vaccination and other issues were discussed in detail in the meeting. The Chief Secretary has asked all the collectors to make roof water harvesting work compulsory for the conservation of rain water in all government buildings. The Chief Secretary said that the newly constructed government buildings and the works of roof water harvesting in private buildings will also be monitored by the collectors. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary has instructed the collectors to expedite the contract for custom milling and lifting of paddy from paddy procurement.
 
The Chief Secretary has also directed all collectors to complete all works sanctioned under Narva project within time limit on priority. In the meeting, it has come to light that over 26,000 quintals of paddy have rotten due to the upliftment of paddy from the paddy procurement centres of Raipur district. In the meeting, the officials of the Raipur district informed that there are around 36,000 metric tonnne of paddy remain for lifting in the paddy procurement centres of Raipur district. 3,66,000 metric tonnne of paddy have been lifted from paddy procurement centres of Raipur district for custom milling so far, the officials added. Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Dr Kamalpreet Singh has pulled up the officials of Raipur district for delay of lifting of paddy from paddy procurement centres of Raipur district.
 
Dr Singh has asked Raipur collector to fix responsibilities of the officials for damage of paddy in Raipur district. Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Jail Department Subrat Sahoo, Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Renu G Pilay, Principal Secretary of School Education Department Dr Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary of Forest Department Manoj Pungua and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
