As alarm bells have started ringing with second wave of COVID-19 striking in adjoining States, the Madhya Pradesh Government has directed the district administration and local bodies to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitisation in cities. The Government has also directed to ensure following of COVID protocol strictly. Accordingly, the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation have given needed impetus to ongoing drive and taking strict action against those creating uncleanliness in the city. Senior officials of health department, on Tuesday issued challan to a number of people and realized spot fine from them.
 
Senior officials conducted drive in several areas of the city. They dealt strictly with street vendors, shopkeepers and citizens for making public places unclean. They also fined citizens for not wearing masks and not maintaining proper physical distancing. Health Officer, Bhupendra Singh informed that senior officials on Thursday issued challan 42 people and realized spot fine of Rs 9,200 from them.
 
He said the department is carrying out the drive regularly and taking strict action against people who are creating uncleanliness at public places. Singh said Commissioner, Sandeep G R has asked the Heath Department to expedite the drive and ensure people must use masks while coming out of their homes and maintain proper social distancing.
