Bhargava stresses on preparation for self-funded infra schemes

Public Works Department and Gramodyog Minister Gopal Bhargava said that to make Madhya Pradesh Atmanirbhar in road, water, electricity and irrigation, then self-funded schemes should be prepared. He was speaking in a meeting Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh Infrastructure Development Group of Ministers held at Mantralaya and was attended by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodiya, Energy Minister Pradhyuman Singh Lodhi, Horticulture and Food Processing Minister (independent charge) Bharat Singh Kushwah, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Brajendra Singh Yadav etc.
 
Gopal Bhargava cited an example of construction of road on the basis of BOT in context of self-funded scheme concept. On this line, Public Works Department is preparing roadmap to develop State and district routes. It was informed in the meeting that work is being done in speedy manner in Madhya Pradesh to realise the target of Indian government of ensuring drinking water in all villages by year 2023. Energy Minister Pradhyuman Singh Lodhi informed that Madhya Pradesh has achieved self dependent in electricity production. In current, Madhya Pradesh has achieved capacity of producing 21,000 MW electricity. But by seeing its operation cost, there is need to emphasis on new and renewable energy. Government is working on green energy corridor project.
 
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat informed that through all available resources, 1.15 crore hectare land is being irrigated. In coming next year, target of 5 lakh hectare irrigation capacity expansion has been set. Likewise, Narmada Valley Development Authority has also prepared projects to increase irrigation facility. Their implementation will be done in next three years.
