Market Department and Anti-encroachment Wing of the Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) have removed illegal encroachments from in front of the District Court premises. They removed the encroachers which comprised of small kiosks, vendors etc. The officers initiating actions included Anti-Encroachment In-charge Sub-Engineer Shiv Sharma and Assistant Revenue Inspector, Market Officer Prakashdhar Diwan.

The vendors and tea sellers operating in the Court Premises were littering which was causing hindrance in the proceedings of the court. In order to remove the encroachment, the court authorities had also sent letters to the DMC. Acting swiftly, the DMC served notices to the vendors operating in front of the District Court and despite receiving the notices, the vendors had ignored it. As per the directives of the DMC Commissioner Haresh Mandavi, the encroachments were finally removed by the DMC. The corporation authorities also appealed from the vendors not to encroach in front of the District Court or else stringent legal actions will be taken against them. Moreover, they have been also warned of stricter actions on encroaching in the area again.
