Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu and Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahariya on Thursday inaugurated several amenities at the State Police Academy, Chandkhuri. The Ministers structures like Academy entry gate, parking shed for four and two-wheelers, electrification, pond, conference room, swimming pool renovation, tube-well boring working, sound proofing of conference hall, open study steps and outer shower, parade ground view cutter, hostel building (DSP and PSI) repairing, road widening and strengthening.
 
Academy Director GP Singh had informed Home Minister that the Police Academy continued the training even during pandemic-induced lockdown in 2020. During the training, trainees were sent to home districts related to the academy for duty along with online training work. The Academy gave online training regarding crimes against women & children, cyber crimes, mental health etc. The Chhattisgarh trainees brought from Kota, Rajasthan were also quarantined in the Academy. Bureau of Police Research and Development and Chhattisgarh Police Academy Chandkhuri was declared Zonal-level winner for gazetted and non-gazetted police training academy in 2017-18, under which the academy received Rs 4 lakh.
 
In his address, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that training is an incessant process, which instill confidence and strength in work. Police personnel need to be trained to deal with sensitiveness with the common people and also need to take care of aspects like human emotion. Police needs to be efficient, democratic and humane. The programme was attended by Academy Director G P Singh, Deputy Director Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Superintendent of Police Vijay Agrawal, Additional SP Dr Sangeeta Peters, Arang SDM Vinay Sharma, DSP Ajay Sharma, Rupa Khes, Lalita Verma, District Panchayat member, Dinesh Singh Thakur, Janpad member, Malti Dhiver Sarpanch, Hemant Kotrate Sarpanch Mungeshwar, Rajkumari Santosh Sahu, Sarpanch Nagpura, Jeevan Dhritalahre, Sarpanch Bade Mungi, and locals.
