Seven patients succumbed to the infection in past 24 hours across State
The COVID-19 positivity rate in State on Friday was 5.5 per cent while more than 1,000 cases were detected, which makes it pretty clear that spread of coronavirus infection has caught up a fast pace. As many as 1,140 more people have contracted the deadly coronavirus across the State while seven patients succumbed to the infection in past 24 hours.
 
Amid the apprehensions of another COVID-19 wave, this scary rise in daily cases of infection has kept the State Health Department on toes.
 
The health experts have opined to take precautionary measures as this sudden increase in numbers of coronavirus infection can prove fatal owing to the several mutations the virus underwent. Of all cases reported in State on Friday, 309 were from Indore while 272 were detected in Bhopal.
 
With this, the total case tally has reached to 2,73,097 and so far 3,901 people have succumbed to the deadly coronavirus in State.
 
Madhya Pradesh’s active cases are rising again and have reached 6,609 and the test positivity rose to 5.5 per cent. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has reached 2,62,587 pushing the state recovery rate to 96.35 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.4 per cent.
 
A total of 3,901 deaths have been reported so far in the State, including 944 from Indore followed by 624 in Bhopal, 252 from Jabalpur, 233 from Gwalior, 153 from Sagar and 111 in Khargone. Madhya Pradesh’s coronavirus figures are as follows: Total cases 2,73,097, active cases 6,609, new cases 1,140, total deaths 3,901, discharged 2,62,587, number of people tested so far 60,92,451.
