Due to the three active weather systems thunderstorms are prevailing in most of the districts of State, including Bhopal. During this period, hailstorms are also falling at isolated areas. From morning thunder showers were witnessed in city and cloudy weather was persistent.
 
According to Weather Department officials this type of weather is likely to last till March 21. A new western disturbance is also expected to enter North India on March 21. Its effect will start from March 23.
 
At present, a western disturbance is present in Jammu and Kashmir. An upper air cyclone is also over East Rajasthan. Similarly, there is a cyclone of upper air over Marathwada in Maharashtra. Wind also remains south-east. Because of this, there is a large amount of moisture coming into the atmosphere with the air. Due to this, many districts of the state including the capital Bhopal are witnessing thunder rain showers. Besides, the maximum and minimum temperatures are currently increasing. It is sunny even in the morning after being partly cloudy and thunderstorms are expected in the evening. On March 20, there is a possibility of rain in Madhya Pradesh with thunderstorm in many places including the capital Bhopal. Bhopal city recorded with maximum temperature at 32 degrees Celsius which was five degrees above than the normal and minimum temperature at 18 degrees Celsius which was two degrees below than the normal temperature. Wind velocity recorded was 18 km per hour. Maximum temperature recorded at Indore was at 35.4(+1) degrees Celsius which was one degree below than the normal range and minimum temperature recorded at 19.3(+2) degrees Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum at 36.4(+3) degree Celsius and minimum at 20.5(+2) degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded at 33.7(+2) degrees Celsius and minimum at 20.7(+4) degrees Celsius. Lowest minimum temperature recorded was 15 degrees Celsius at Rewa, Seoni and Mandla. Highest temperature recorded was at 40 degrees Celsius recorded at Khandwa. Rainfall recorded at Bhopal was 10 mm. Sagar recorded 7.8 mm rainfall and Raisen was at 9.8 mm rainfall.
