Under the direction of Collector Priyank Mishra, a special campaign is being conducted for prevention of collection, transportation, sale and manufacture of illegal liquor. District Excise Officer Anil Jain said that action was taken by the team led by Assistant District Excise Officer, Mamta Ahirwar on Friday by Abkari Department. Excise Circle Katni-2, Adharkap, along with Telianpar river and in Ghatkherwa, has been seized 1 litre hand-baked liquor and 3,210 kg Mahua Lahan by the Excise flying squad. In this proceeding, 4 court cases were also registered under section 34(1) A and F of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915 against the accused. Mahua Lahan was sampled on the spot and destroyed. Estimated cost of alcohol and liquor seized is about Rs 1,60,650.
