District Administration has doubled the fine for people found roaming without mask in public places in a bid to intensify enforcement of Covid-19 safety protocols to arrest the rise of infections, in what appears to be second wave of pandemic. As the Covid-19 cases once again breached the 1,000 mark, District Administration and Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) have heaped on the efforts to enforce the rules at public places. The fine for not wearing mask has now increased to Rs 200 from Rs 100.
 
Teams of all 10 RMC Zones altogether fined 507 people with Rs 42,240. The Zone-1 team collected Rs 3,800 from 45 people, Zone-2 collected Rs 7,960 from 88 people, Zone-3 Rs 6,060 from 87 people, Zone-6 Rs 10,520 from 153 people, Zone-7 Rs 5,400 from 31 people, Zone-8 Rs 3,250 from 49 people, Zone-9 Rs 2,350 from 26 people and Zone-10 team caught 28 citizens wondering without masks and slapped a total of Rs 2,900 fine on them. All the people caught without masks were left with warnings from public safety perspective to wear the masks all the time when out in the public places.
