THE 46th Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaroh was inaugurated at Maihar. This musical fest is organised every year in memory of Padma Vibhushan Baba Allauddin Khan at Maihar. This function has been organised under aegis of Culture Department, Culture Council, Ustad Allauddin Khan Academy with help of the local administration and district administration, Maihar. The programme commenced with presentation by Maihar Vadh Vrind with ‘Raag Basant’. The chief guest on the occasion was MLA, Maihar, Narayan Tripathi. Collector Ajay Katseria, Munciplaity President Dharmesh Ghai and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

 

The message of Culture, Tourism Minister Usha Thakur was read out by Director, Ustad Allauddin Khan Academy Rahul Rastogi. At the inaugural presentation, Maihar Band artist presented ‘Holi song’ in the Raag ‘Basant’ which was originally composed by Late Baba Allauddin Khan. Then Ustad Sajid Pervez Pune gave presentation on the ‘sitar’ and ‘tabla’ in raga Vageshwari. Musical fest saw presentation was kathak by Rani Khana from Delhi and her group, vocal by Ustad Rashid Khan and Arman Khan from Kolkata, violin by Sangeeta Shankar, Ragini Shankar, Nadini Shankar, ‘tridhara’ recital by Gajendra Kumar Panda, oddissi dance by group from Bhuvneshwar.

 

Organising Committee Secretary Kailash Jain, SDM Suresh Aggarwal, Keshav chaurasia, Ashosk chaubey, Kamal Suhaem Rajmata Kaviteshwara Devi, Late Ustand Allauaddin Khan grandson Siraj Kha and other dignitaries, graced the occasion. Prior to the inaugural function, MLA Narayan Tripathi, Collector Ajay Katseria, organizing committee members visited ‘Madina bhavan’ and offered ‘chadar’ on the ‘mazar’ of Bala Allaudin Khan and his wife.
