ARANG,

The incomplete work on Railway Bridge over main Mahanadi Canal at Lakholi will only be resumed after supply water for general utilities. The Railway contractor and Irrigation Department have started removing temporary stopper built on the side of Abhanpur and near Devda Bridge for Rabi water respectively. The decision to suspend the work on bridge has been taken by Railway officials following Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey’s efforts.

It is to be noted that Railway had given Irrigation Department the ultimatum to complete the work this year after the work couldn’t be completed by stipulated time by 24th of April 2020 due to supplying of water to Kanki cross regulator due to the construction work. Hence, the local public representatives had approached Minister Choubey, who had expressed his helplessness towards providing water ahead of Lakholi Bridge. But, now when the problem is solved, Panchayat representatives have thanked Minister.
