Felicitates medal winning para powerlifters Bonde and Rinke
 
 
TERMING the medal winning feats of city’s para powerlifters Pratima Krushnarao Bonde and Roshani Prakash Rinke as a matter of pride for the city, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari felicitated the duo upon their arrival in the city on Monday. Bonde won a gold medal while Rinke a bronze in their respective categories at the 18th Senior & 13th Junior National Para Powerlifting Championships that concluded at Kanteerawa Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday. Both players have qualified for international events to be held later in the year.
 
Tiwari and Deputy Mayor Manisha Dhawade feted both the players in presence of Ruling Party Leader Avinash Thakare, Chairman of NMC’s Sports Committee Pramod Tabhane, Corporator Dinesh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Bhagat, Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar and others. Both Bonde and Rinke are State’s Eklavya Award winners and were handed a sum of Rs 15,000 each by NMC’s Social Welfare Department under various schemes floated by the Mayor for divyangs. Bonde is preparing for international event to be held in Thailand. Mayor promised more monetary help to her. Apart from Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner B Radhakrishnan also honoured both the players in his cabin.
