‘Corporators should inspire citizens to get vaccinated’

 ‘At present mask is the only prevention against Covid-19’
 
 
The District Chief Health and Medical Officer Office organised a workshop ‘Protection against Covid-19, Jaundice and Dengue’ under the National Urban Health Mission for the Corporators on Tuesday. The workshop was attended by Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, RMC Commissioner Saurabh Kumar, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel, MiC members Gyanesh Sharma, Sunder Jogi, Akash Tiwari, Jitendra Agrawal, Suresh Channawar, Draupati Patel, Zone Chairman Dr Pramod Sahu, Mannu Vijeta Yadav, Ghanshyam Chhatri, Maniram Sahu, Akashdeep Sharma, Corporator Minal Choubey, Sarita Dubey, Neelam Jagat, Sarita Verma, Seema Sahu, Anwar Hussain, Birendra Dewangan, Kunwar Rajiyant Dhruw, Purushottam Behera, Kamran Ansari, Alderman Sunil Bhuwal, Devdiwan Kurre and RMC officials as Additional Commissioner Pulak Bhattcharya, Health Officer Vijay Pandey, Assistant Health Officer Dr Tripti Panigrahi, and Executive Engineer Planning Rajesh Sharma.
 
At the workshop, RMC Commissioner Saurabh Kumar took the initiative to get all the Corporators vaccine doses as the frontline workers and will discuss the topic with the Collector. He said that the Corporators should appeal and inspire the citizens to get vaccinated for Covid-19. Last year, the Covid-19 infection spread rapidly in the city. At the time, RMC Corporators and officials/employees played key role in controlling the infection. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel said that at present mask is the only prevention against Covid-19. She said that large numbers of patients have been found at Amlidih, New Rajendra Nagar, DD Nagar, Ramkund etc.
 
Dr Baghel appealed Corporators to encourage the people of Kachna, Boriyakala, Amaseoni etc areas to get vaccinated. She also appealed people to get tested for Covid-19 if they feel even mild symptoms. Additional Commissioner Pulak Bhattacharya said that RMC last year had distributed chlorine tablets, fixed pipelines and took other measures to prevent the outbreak of jaundice. Dr Meera also gave tips to prevent dengue outbreak.
