Adding another feather to its success cap, a team of doctors in Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur, performed treatment of a rare health condition Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). According to the hospital’s doctors, DVT is a serious condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a vein located deep inside your body. Deep vein blood clots typically form in your thigh or lower leg, but they can also develop in other areas of your body and eventually turn into a fatal condition. Recently, the radiology department of the hospital has treated two patients suffering from DVT. Due to the clot, they were under immense pain along with swelling and wound in the legs.

After two persons suffering from the condition approached the radiology department, interventional radiologist Dr Vivek Patre treated them through DSS Machine under the guidance of head of the radiology department Dr S B S Netam. They were treated through Catheter-directed thrombolysis, which is a minimally invasive treatment that dissolves abnormal blood clots in blood vessels to help improve blood flow and prevent damage to tissues and organs. Both the patients were treated under Dr Khoobchand Baghel Swastyha Sahayata Yojana. The team that treated the patients was Dr Vivek Patre, Dr Devendra, Dr Sonal, Dr Akansha, Dr KK Sahare, Dr Arunabh Mukherjee, Dr Santosh Sonkar and nursing staff.
