Variety of events mark valedictory function of two-day ‘Talash- e Jauhar’

On the second day of Talash- e-Jauhar, 42 poets tried their luck on Fil Badeeh (extempore) shayari contest. It was part of two-day Talash-e-Jauhar programme, being organised at Kukkut Bhavan in the city. Madhya Pradesh Urdu Akademi organised the event under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava to mark 75 years of India’s independence. The second day programme witnessed participants from Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Damoh, Jabalpur, Sheopur, Raisen, Katni, Chhindwara, Narasinghpur, etc. The participants put their best foot forward under the creative writing events and all expressed their joy of completing 75 years of independence of the country through shayari.
 
The jury for the competition included Zafar Sahabai, senior poet of Bhopal, Yusuf Mansoori, the senior poet of Indore, Farooq Anjum from Bhopal and Malik Naved Bhopali. With the joint decision of the jury, Anees Khan of Damoh was awarded the first prize, Ata Waris bagged the second prize while Rakesh Raj of Chhindwara was awarded the third prize. Sitara B of Damoh and Nita Saxena of Bhopal were honoured with special awards. At the beginning of the event, Academy Director Dr Nusrat Mehdi welcomed the guests and explained the objectives of the event.
 
He said that in Urdu language, literature and poetry, numerous creators have written on the topics of patriotism, community, peace and brotherhood. The aim of the Urdu Academy is that even the new creators of today express their feelings towards their homeland, their birthplace and their soil through their creation. In the second season of the event, songs and ghazals based on patriotism and Sufiana Kalam were performed by artist Arif Latif and his team, which received good response from the audience. After the presentation of Arif Latif, all the poets who participated in the event were honored with prizes and certificates. At the end of the event, Academy Director Dr Nusrat Mehdi thanked all the audience and participants. The programme was conducted by Mumtaz Khan and Rizwan Uddin Farooqui.
