As per the directives of the Collector, Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, masks were on Wednesday night distributed at Indira Market and Hatri Bazaar. Commissioner Haresh Mandavi visited both the places and distributed the masks. He also directed the officials to monitor that people follow the Covid protocols. Accompanied by the officials from the Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC), the Commissioner went to Indira Market, Phool Bazaar, Maan Hotel road, parking place and around Sharda talkies.

He visited the shops and asked the shopkeeper to use masks and draw circles outside their shops standing on which people can buy goods while following social distancing. He also stopped the people roaming without masks and asked them to use masks. Commissioners informed that the appeal made by the administration and awareness messages have resulted into most of the people using facial mask. He said that its effect can be seen in markets.

Meanwhile those not complying by the directives have been fined by the municipal corporation administration.
