Awareness on World TB Day at SEPM

School of Excellence in Pulmonary Medicine (SEPM), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, conducted various activities including awareness programme marking World Tuberculosis Day. Dr Jitendra Bhargava, Director, SEPM, while interacting with the patients and their family members, emphasised over the necessity of complete treatment of tuberculosis and adverse impact of incomplete treatment on the patient’s health.
 
According to Dr. Bhargava, once started, the patients need to receive complete treatment of TB otherwise the TB virus develops drug resistant ability. Mentioning about lack of public awareness towards TB disease and it’s treatment, Dr. Akruti Gupta explained about the urgent need to continue the battle against tuberculosis amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Gupta also outlined the significant role being played by every doct5or, nurses, lab technicians, field workers and other staff to make ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ successful. Dr. Bramhaprakash informed that every person is a soldier in the battle against Tuberculosis, who can fulfills his/her duties either by helping in treatment activities or by creating awareness. Later on, rangoli, poster making and slogan writing competitions were organized.
 
Associate Professor, Dr. Sanjay Bharti and Dr. Sonia judged the competitions. As per results, staff nurses, Sapna Bhabar and Seema Daheriya and Madhuri obtained first prize in rangoli and poster competitions respectively while, MBBS student Kavya Paroha won first prize by impressing the judges with her intelligence during slogan writing competition. Dean, NSCB Medical College, Dr. Pradeep Kasar awarded the winners with prizes and certificates. All the activities were enthusiastically participated by all the staff nurses, lab technicians, ward boys and guards associated with SEPM. Assistant Professor, Dr. Vikash Patel, Dr. Avinash Jain, Dr. Virendra Arya, Dr. Manish Gupta, Dr. Amrendra Shukla, MRO, Dr. Nitin Manjhi and other resident doctors and paramedical staff rendered their support.
