FOUR coronavirus deaths of a family in Sector-4 within last ten days is irreparable loss for the family while at the same time it is an eye-opener incident for people, least bothering for abiding by Covid protocols and inviting
danger for themselves and their near and dear ones.
The authorities from the Health Department cautioned people for ensuring strict compliance of all directives and opting for prophylactic medication and going for test in case of anyone tested positive in contacts and therapeutic treatment on the basis of test results under supervision of qualified doctors. All due care ought to be taken with vaccination.
According to the information within last ten days, four of a family in Sector-4, Bhilai died due to coronavirus and also two deaths were reported from Sector-2 on Thursday, while considerable deaths were reported from Sector-9 in the recent past.
It is painful to know that in the family of Sector-4, Bhilai a woman and her children were left as the four including husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law died due to coronavirus infection. It is learnt that Sector-4 and Sector-9 are worse affected in terms of deaths and Covid positive cases reported from these areas in BSP Township.
The reports are pouring in that coronavirus infection is fast spreading in Durg district and most cases are reported from Bhilai and Durg, while each day highest number of cases are being reported from Durg in State. Tushar Verma, Manager (Urban), Health Department, Durg informed that onus of fast spread of coronavirus infection lies on people as all Covid directives are at bay here. The authorities from health department and district administration are putting in all due efforts but the spread could not be brought under control until due cooperation and effective compliance of Covid directives by people. The people ought to go for taking prophylactic and therapeutic treatment to prevent from getting infected and medication respectively without any delay.
Dr Verma stated that in most cases deaths are being reported due to avoiding test even in case of symptoms and consequent delay in proper medication under supervision of doctors from nearest Covid centre. Immediate preventive measures are must if anyone in contact has been detected Covid positive. He said that it is a matter of serious concerns that the people are found without wearing masks, touching their faces frequently and hardly bothered about hand hygiene.
In evening youths are seen sharing cigarette at kiosks and there is no social distancing at eateries and other such joints. The people at offices and workplaces should not sit together to have tiffin and take separately after sanitising the area. Dr Verma also informed that whereas vaccination is concerned it is administered within gap 28 days as per WHO reports it takes around six to eight weeks for preparing antibodies which is the critical time period as one can get infected easily. Even vaccinated one should comply with all Covid directives.
