Campaigning in Damoh Assembly seat to pick up pace after Holi

After declaring their candidates, BJP and Congress have started ground work in by-poll bound Damoh Assembly seat. They are making all efforts to create favourable atmosphere for themselves. The campaigning is yet to gain pace, most probably, both the parties will try to accelerate campaigning after Holi festival.
 
BJP has pressed all its stalwart leaders into preparations of Damoh Assembly by-election. BJP State President V D Sharma has already made two ministers, including Bhupendra Singh and Gopal Bhargava, Incharge for Damoh by-election. They are keeping a close watch on political activities in the region and are trying to cement party’s position. From the side of Congress, former CM Kamal Nath had already addressed one grand public rally in Damoh recently. In coming days, Congress is also going to increase its activities in Damoh to woo voters. For BJP, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the face to please voters.
 
As political activities will gain momentum, BJP will also ask its leaders one by one to go to Damoh and try to woo voters. Development works and public welfare schemes would be major poll plank of BJP during campaigning. PWD Minister Gopal Bhargava, when contacted, told ‘The Hitavada’ that BJP is confident of its victory in Damoh Assembly by-election. He said that on Friday, he took a meeting of party workers in Damoh. Party candidate Rahul Singh will file his nomination papers on March 30 in presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP State President V D Sharma and other party leaders. He also said that campaigning will start picking up pace after Holi festival. Damoh is dominated by voters of Lodhi and some other castes.
