Holi, Holika Dahan to be restricted to homes to prevent COVID transmission

Holi celebrations and Holika Dahan will be restricted to homes only and now artisans are preparing small sized Holika dahan sculptures so that the rituals can be performed at homes. Different social organisations are vowing to perform Holika Dahan from Gokashta. People of Brahmin, Sindhi, Shri Gujarati, Rajput, Rathore, Kushwaha, Bhojpuri Society and other people have pledged to perform Holika Dahan from Gokashtha and have come forward with Gokashtha centres.
Under ‘Mera Ghar Meri Holi’, people have started preparing to perform Holika Dahan from house to house leaving public places. Holika Dahan through Gokashta will be safe for environment and can be done at home. Gokashtha Promotion and Environmental Protection Service Committee has decided to start Gokashtha Kendra at 33 places in the city. People will get Gokashtha at the rate of Rs 10 per kg in 33 different places. The committee also recommended Bhadbhada Maa Kali Mandir, number five, Arera Colony,Komal Palace, Anand Nagar, Mata Mandir, Hamidia Road, Shyamla Hills, Manas Udyan, Nehru Nagar, Barkheda, Hoshangabad Road, Ashoka Garden, Piplani, Mandakini Kolar, Mangalwara, Apsara to provide Gokasht. Volunteers are also encouraging 10 to 14 year old to perform Holika Dahan within the house due to corona. They are telling children not to do Holika Dahan on streets and squares. Outside houses, do Holika Dahan in a small form. Tree friend Sunil Dubey of the city said, “I am making children aware of Holika Dahan from house to house. He said to celebrate the festival under ‘Mera Ghar, Meri Holi Abhiyan’. Holika Dahan from Gokashta will prevent corona from increasing. Also, environmental protection will also be done.
