‘Empowering of agriculture sector and rural India must’

While speaking at the Agro Food Tech virtual Summit organised by the Agrovision Foundation, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that empowerment of agriculture sector and rural India is must to make India self reliant. He also said that to accelerate growth in agricultural production, new technology, research and development and innovative farming should reach the country’s villages.
 
At the outset, Dr C D Mayee, Secretary of the Agrovision Foundation said because of the growing cases of coronavirus in the country, the foundation has been conducting most of its events on online platforms. “In the last one year, the foundation has successfully organised 23 webinars, many conferences, interactions with the farmers with an objective to make them aware of various topics,” he said. P M Parlewar, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur, spoke about micro, small and medium enterprises related to farming. He highlighted various schemes of the Government and urged the farmers to take its advantage. Ravi Boradkar, President of Agrovision Foundation, praised Parlewar for sharing valuable information with the participants.
 
he further said that the foundation has been promoting new technology and innovation through its various events. “Now we are focusing on ‘Agri Enterpreneurship’ so that farmers could be benefited. Along with our Trustee Shridhar Thakre, we are working on the plan of a cluster of citrus fruits. Ramesh Mankar and Dr Mayee are also working on other projects,” he said. Apart from this, Boradkar proposed the formal vote of thanks.
