Arakshit Varga Adhikari/ Karmachari Sangh, Chhattisgarh of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) has announced a mass casual leave on March 20, 2021 to protest against the alleged discrimination against reservation category employees in promotion in CSEB. In a press conference, the organisation’s State President S K Thakur said the High Court, in order dated December 9, 2019, had stayed the reservation in promotion and directed that regular promotions will continue, it was further clarified by the High Court through another order on January 8, 2020.

But the Power Company misinterpreted the order to deprive the reserved category employees of promotion. Thakur e alleged that in the past one year, many senior employees/officials of reserved category have been kept away from promotion while many juniors of general category got the promotion.

After they drew the attention of CM Bhupesh Baghel, the then Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies Subrat Sahoo had stopped promotions against rules. Thakur alleged that the general category officials/employees started putting pressure as the new Chairman Ankit Anand took charge. New chairman overstepped his authority to pass a regulation on March 19, 2021 and is also in contempt of the High Court’s orders.
