With considerable rise in COVID-19 cases across Twin City in the past one week, the Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been intensified the disinfection drive in the containment zones declared by the health administration. The BMC Commissioner Rituraj Raghuwanshi has urged the city residents to not panic and act conscientiously to fight against the global pandemic, do not step out unnecessarily. He requested to follow social distancing, wear gloves and masks at all times when outdoors.
 
The BMC authority has undertaken disinfection measures in areas nearby all containment zones to control the spread of coronavirus. In the door-to-door campaign, the BMC officials have been requested city residents to stay in their homes and avoid venturing out unnecessarily. On the other hand, the BMC authority has been undertaking door-to-door visits to appeal the city residents to disinfect their homes every day and they have been also eliminated mosquito breeding zones from residential quarters and distributing chlorine tablet, bleaching powders.
 
In addition, the BMC authority has formed zone wise separate teams to spray disinfectants and bleaching powder and over 400 anganbadi members have been assisting the BMC authority in door-to-door survey cum awareness drive. The sanitary workers with sanitation teams have been sprayed sodium hypochloride solution on streets, gullies, doors of the houses in containment zones. Moreover, the enforcement officials and police personnel have restricted any kind of movement in the containment zone.
