Close shave for 3 as aircraft develops snag, makes emergency landing in field

A small aircraft made an emergency landing in a field when its left engine developed technical snag in Gandhi Nagar locality of Bhopal on Saturday. The aircraft was carrying three people, including pilot, co-pilot and one more person. All of them has a lucky escape and suffered minor injuries.
 
The incident is being investigated. Gandhi Nagar SHO Arun Sharma, when contacted, told ‘The Hitavada’ that aircraft of Pinnacle company was going to Guna from Bhopal for some survey related work. Left engine of the plane developed some technical snag. Pilot Ashwin contacted Raja Bhoj Airport and sought permission to return for landing. However, the aircraft could not reach till Raja Bhoj Airport and the captain was left with no option but opt for emergency landing in an open field. Fortunately, the plane did not catch fire during emergency landing.
 
All the three on board, including Captain Ashwin, Co-pilot Raj Kumar and another person Aseem, escaped the mishap with minor injuries. Speaking to ‘The Hitavada’ ASP Dinesh Kausal also told that the aircraft made emergency landing in an open field after it developed some technical glitch at around 3 pm. The incident is being investigated by DGCI. It is being said that the aircraft was being used for some survey work. In the meantime when police got information about the emergency landing in a field all senior officers of the area immediately rushed to spot.
