Bhopal sizzles as mercury soars due to heat wave

Severe heat wave warning issued in many parts of State 
 
Heat wave warning has been issued in many parts of the State. Due to the absence of any weather system active and winds being western and northwest, maximum temperature has been increasing in most of Madhya Pradesh, including the capital. Heat wave has been experienced in Rewa, Satna, Umaria, Jabalpur, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Damoh, Dhar, Ratlam, Datia, Gwalior and Guna. As per Weather Department officials, at present, no weather system is active. Wind also continues in the direction of western and northwest.
 
Rajasthan and Gujarat are experiencing intense heat. Due to the continuous hot winds, the heat of summer season is getting sharp in all districts of the State. The maximum temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 41 degree Celsius on due to western winds at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour. According to the data available at the Meteorological Centre, this is the highest temperature in March so far. Bhopal city recorded minimum temperature at 20 degree Celsius which was two degree below than normal temperature. Wind velocity recorded was 18 km per hour.
 
Weather Department has issued heat wave warning for Satna, Bhopal, Ratlam, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Betul, Hoshangabad and Seoni. The department officials has said that around 28 areas have witnessed maximum temperature ranging from 40-45 degree Celsius. The highest temperature of the day was recorded at Khajuraho which was at 43 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was at Raisen which was, 15 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at Indore at 40.2 degree Celsius which was one degree above the normal range and minimum temperature was at 20.6 degree Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum at 40.5 degree Celsius and minimum at 24.8 (+2) degree Celsius .Gwalior recorded at 40.8 degree Celsius and minimum at 24.5 (+2) degree Celsius.
