NAINA Singh Dhakad is all set to climb Mount Everest and will become the first from Bastar to do so. Before she left, Collector Rajat Bansal and SP Deepak Jha wished her success. Bastar will be proud as Bastar’s Naina Singh will be climbing the highest peak in the world i.e. Mount Everest. After hoisting tricolour, Naina Singh will become the first person from Bastar who has accomplished this feat. On Tuesday, Collector Rajat Bansal and SP Deepak Jha congratulated Naina Singh for the success of her expedition before leaving for Mount Everest. Besides, Executive Director of NMDC’s Nagarnar Steel and Iron Plant Prashant Das was also present on the occasion.
 
Naina Singh, expressing her gratitude to the district administration and NMDC said that her journey will be of around 60 days. Naina Singh Dhakad has two brothers while one brother runs a tea shop the other has a general shop. Naina’s father had died when she was a child and since then, her mother has been taking care of all three children on her own.
 
Naina informed that in the year 2009, she got to know about NSS mountaineering camps and was selected for a national mountaineering camp in the year 2010. She added that her mother and brothers supported her at every step and always encouraged her to do better and better. It needs a mention here that Naina Dhakad has a degree B.P.Ed and has represented at the National Judo championships in the year 2011, 2012 and 2013.
