60-hr lockdown in effect to break covid chain

Alarming surge in covid cases has forced the Government and local administration to take strict action and check spread of dreadful virus by avoiding unnecessary public movement.
 
Therefore, the Government has imposed 60-hour lockdown in the State. The lockdown started from 6 pm, on Friday and would continue till 6 am, on Monday.
 
With start of lockdown period, Police ensured closing of shops and urged people, through public address system, to go back to home. The Police also deployed additional force at main squares, routes and set up check points to halt needless movement of people on city streets. Except emergency services all activities have been restricted totally. In view of the spurt in coronavirus cases, the State Government had on Thursday announced 60-hour lockdown in Madhya Pradesh. Accordingly, the lockdown came into force at 6 pm on Friday and will remain in force till 6 am on Monday. Due to the lockdown, business community people have downed shutters of their establishments early in the evening on Friday.
But the shops, which comes under emergency and essential services were remained open.
 
To make the lockdown successful, the district administration and Police Department have made foolproof arrangements in entire city. Police personnel have been deployed at every square and crossings to avoid violation of lockdown. Senior administrative and police officials have been monitoring the situation and inspecting the arrangements.
