Drivers get inoculated in special drive by NMC

Special vaccination camp undertaken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to inoculate people in service sector is receiving good response. The measure is part of Break the Chain initiative undertaken by Maharashtra Government. The 'Special Component - Special Day' campaign of vaccination for the citizens working in various fields started from Thursday and on the first day, drivers in the city took advantage of the vaccination on 'Driver's Day'.
Auto rickshaw drivers, cycle rickshaw pullers, e-rickshaw drivers, Kali-Pili taxi drivers, Ola-Uber taxi drivers and those working in private travels above the age of 45 years were vaccinated. Relevant vaccination campaigns were carried out at all Government vaccination centres in the city as per the directives. This has been a great relief to all the drivers in the city and everyone has expressed their satisfaction.
Vilas Bhalerao, Chairman, Vidarbha Autorickshaw Drivers' Association Action Committee, said that the campaign being implemented by the NMC for drivers in the city is highly commendable. He also appealed to all autorickshaw drivers to take advantage of this opportunity to protect themselves and their families. For this special vaccination campaign, Jalaram Mandir Trust arranged to give a packets of 1200 buttermilk to be provided to drivers. For the success of this vaccination campaign, the nodal officer Milind Meshram, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Sanjay Dahikar, Raju Sonekar, Pankaj Meshram and Mr. Pramod Mate worked hard.
Campaign only for those above 45 years of age NMC has clarified that only citizens above 45-years of age will be vaccinated under certain factors, specific day campaigns. Ordinary citizens are also being vaccinated. This special vaccination campaign is being implemented so that benefit of vaccination reaches every sector. Citizens delivering parcels will be vaccinated on April 12 and after that on April 14, the citizens who sell vegetables, fruits and milk will be vaccinated.
Workers and hawkers will be vaccinated on April 16, media workers and journalists on April 18, traders and medical shopkeepers on April 20, restaurant and hotel workers on April 22 and sales and marketing workers
on April 24.
All these citizens should bring Aadhar card, PAN card or driving license with them. Also, every Wednesday, special arrangements will be made by the NMC for vaccination of women above the age of 45 years in Government hospitals. The purpose of this campaign is to vaccinate on a large scale for the safety of the citizens, informed Additional Commissioner Jalaj Sharma.
