A 106-year-old woman was administered first shot of COVID-19 vaccine at Berasia in the State capital on Saturday. Kamli Bai, a resident of Bilkho village in Berasia, according to her Aadhaar card, was born on January 1, 1915. She had reached the inoculation centre in Berasia to receive her first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The elderly woman has appealed to the citizens to reach out to the vaccination centres and get self-immunised against the deadly coronavirus. Earlier, an 118-year-old Tulsabai, was given first shot of the vaccine at Khimlasa area in Sagar district last Saturday. These elderly people reaching the vaccination centres are setting an example before those who in spite of all facilities deny getting vaccinated. Notably, a ‘Tika Mahotsav’ will began in State capital, along with the whole nation, from April 11 to 14 and for that a vaccination centre will be set-up in each ward of the district.
