Workers’ migration restarts, heavy rush witnessed in trains

Trains coming from Mumbai, Pune and southern part of India are witnessing heavy rush of passengers specially the labourers and daily wages workers. The rush of passengers proved that once again migration of labourers has been restarted after witnessing the lockdown in several part of country. Trains coming to Bhopal from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi has heavy rush of passengers in general and sleeper class. Apart from lock down, there is Panchayat election in Bihar state from April 15 so many people are moving back to their home town. Railways running staff informed that the rush of passengers has been increased from this week only.
 
They said, about one week back, many seats were going vacant in trains as people having emergency work were travelling in trains. But now people are moving back to their home towns in UP, Bihar, MP and other states. From sleeper to AC coaches, people are travelling in higher number. Even waiting list has been surged up 100. TTE squad team members sought some queries from passengers and came to know that people are losing their daily earning and business in Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat due to the pandemic. Companies have also denied for the wages. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Sukhi Kumar, a passenger at Bhopal station said, “I have a tea stall in Pune but there is no earning for many days as people are avoiding vendors, shops amid the pandemic. I have no money to eat so I came back to my village in Sehore.”
