Academic block at MNLU Nagpur to be inaugurated today

Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur will witness the inauguration of its Academic Building of Permanent Campus at Waranga, on Wednesday at 11 am at the hands of Justice Sharad A Bobde, The Chief Justice of India and guest of honour Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra on virtual mode. It will be done in presence of Justice Bhushan Gavai, Judge Supreme Court; Justice Dipankar Datta, Chief Justice, High Court of Bombay and Pro-Chancellor of the University; Uday Samant, Minister of Higher and Technical Education; Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of Opposition, Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly; Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister; Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister; Dr Nitin Raut, Minister of Energy and Guardian Minister, Justice Sunil Shukre, Administrative Judge, High Court of Bombay, Bench at Nagpur.

The Academic Block has special classrooms planned along corridors which reflect the idea of pedestrian street networks. There are three wings of the G+1 building that is developed on a 60-acre land, each hosting various disciplines. The third wing class rooms along with research centre, yoga, meditation and counseling will be constructed in the future. The two wings which are ready have a variety of spaces for learning; this includes thirteen 70-seater class rooms with raked floor, twenty-nine 24-seat classrooms and also two numbers each of 200 and 100 seat conference halls. The classrooms are designed to be completely day-lit and glare free.
 
The other buildings in Phase-I which are under construction and slated for inauguration mid-2021 are the gate complex, bank, administration, library, boys' and girls' hostels, amenity and residential facilities. Dr Vijender Kumar, Vice Chancellor, C Ramesh Kumar, OSD (Academics and Construction) Dr Ashish Dixit, Registrar and their team is working hard to make the event successful.
