In the absence of doctor, nursing staff and even medicine, the Indoor Stadium Covid Hospital (ISCH) was reduced to nothing more than a glorified lodging facility for Covid patients. The Covid Hospital was inaugurated with much fanfare and hype by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on April 12. According to the reports, the Covid hospital started receiving huge number of patients from Tuesday morning. Around 100 patients were already admitted by 6 pm and hundreds other were lined up outside the stadium.

 

 

There was no one to respond to the queries of people. Leave alone medicines, there wasn’t a single person to give water to patient. There was a huge crowd outside the stadium like some fish market. A patient reported that Government is all hat and no cattle. Citizens are just left to the mercy of God. A 300-bedded Covid Centre wouldn’t do much, as the capital needs at least 10 such centres considering the dire situation. There was also ventilator facility and the patients were only getting oxygen. There was no expert to take care of them. It will be Government and only State Government, which is busy in showing off, will be held responsible if a patient dies in Indoor Stadium.
