To check unnecessary movement of people in city, police personnel are stopping every vehicle and if reasons are not valid then action is being taken against vehicle riders under Section 188. Since March 20 till date, action has been taken against 1,550 people. On Saturday, action was taken against 60 people for violating Section 144 rule. Since 9 pm Monday till 8 pm Saturday, action was taken against 600 people. This is being done to strictly enforce corona curfew. Likewise, police is also cracking whip against people who are not wearing face mask at public places.

 

Since March 20 till date, action has been taken against 9524 people and fine of Rs 9.5 lakh has been recovered from their possession. Notably, corona curfew is continuing in city and unnecessary movement of vehicles and people is strictly prohibited. But on roads, people could be seen riding two wheelers and driving four wheelers. However, under corona curfew, emergency services have been exempted and some people try to take undue benefit of this relaxation. To stop such unnecessary movement, police is carrying out vehicle checking drive in various places of city.
