A constable has been arrested after he strangulated his wife to death at Shanti nagar ward under limits of Kotwali police. The constable suspecting his wife’s character strangulated her to death. The constable was identified as Pallav Budh (33), a resident of Bijapur was married to Miani Pallav in the year 2011. The couple have three children. According to the police sources, Pallav Budh suspected his wife’s character and this had led to fights often between the two. Budh wanted to get rid of his wife and so he made a plan. On April 18, he asked his wife to come with him to the jungle and help him in collecting wood.
 
When they reached jungle, Budh strangulated her and hide her body. Later he returned home and after sometime he started enquiring with the neighbours about his wife that she had not returned from jungle. But the neighbourers suspected his false concern and immediately informed the Councilor about the missing of Maini. Councilor Purshottam Sallur called Kotwali Police, which reached the spot.
 
On grilling, the Constable spilled the beans. He confessed that he killed his wife. The police also came to know that he had married another women three months back and he no more wanted to live with his present wife. The police team recovered the body and sent for autopsy. Bijapur police arrested the constable under relevant section of IPC and further investigation is in progress.
