Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) office will remain open only for five days in a week. Due to rise in corona cases, this measure has been taken to avoid overcrowding in the office.Besides, efforts will also be made to ensure proper health check and screening of BMC officials. Sanitisation is also being carried out at ward offices. The BMC Health Squad working in containment areas has been asked to undergo screening regularly. Municipal Commissioner KVS Chaudhary has issued these instructions to the officials regarding the Cleanliness Survey 2021. Actually, the action of the Municipal Corporation against banned polythene is proving to be a sham.

 

This action is also not done daily. In such a situation, the Municipal Commissioner has issued instructions to the authorities to raise awareness regarding the banned polythene daily. Officials said that along with the shopkeepers, their suppliers and wholesalers will be targeted. In commercial areas this campaign will be conducted along with help of police administration so that action can be taken on the spot. Recently, the BMC had caught a truck full of disposals from Jabalpur.

 

Then it was revealed that polythene and non-standard plastic trade was being secretly used in the city. Municipal officials said that action will be taken by forming teams in the respective areas. It will be monitored by Municipal Commissioner. Apart from this, a report of action will also be prepared. The report will include details about actions have been seized by the Assistant Health Officer (AHO) and Health Officer (HO) who are responsible for the area concerned.
