“I’ve just seen my father’s condition, he is in deep pain due to shortage of oxygen supply, and I am helpless as a son,” said son of a corona patient, who was undergoing treatment at Nirvana Multispecialty Hospital in Bhopal. A staffer of this hospital said that they were facing shortage of oxygen from past three days and that the hospital has now began referring patients to other hospitals, as the oxygen supply will last one hour only.

 

Shortage of oxygen supply continued in the State capital on Thursday with many more hospitals raising alarm bells over unavailability. After the incident of Nirvana Multispecialty Hospital, other private hospitals in the city say they too are facing similar problems. Some hospitals say that the demand for liquid oxygen has shot up by nearly five to 10 times in the last few weeks as patients who are hospitalised with COVID-19 need more oxygen.
