Raipur Collector on Tuesday issued an order fixing the tariff for the operation of private ambulance ferrying patients and the dead body of COVID-19 positive/suspected person. According to the order, Rs 1,100 has been fixed for half day (6 hours), covering 50 kilometre for tempo travellers and other vehicles (similar to the vehicle used in 108 ambulance service) and Rs 2,000 for 100 kilometre a day. Moreover, Rs 14 per kilometre has been fixed as additional charge.
 
Likewise, Rs 900 has been fixed for Multi-Utility Vehicles (MUVs) like TATA Sumo, Bolero and other similar vehicles used as ambulance for a distance of 50 kilometre (6 hours) and Rs 1,600 for 100 kilometre a day, said the order, adding that Rs 10 per kilometre fixed as additional charge. Similarly, Rs 600 has been fixed for small vehicles for a distance of 50 km in half day (6 hours) and Rs 1,100 for 100 km in a day and Rs 8 per kilometre as additional charge. The expense of fuel and driver will be bear by the vehicle owner, added the order.
