Awareness on senior citizens’ helpline number to start in city

Helpline number awareness for senior citizens will be done by BMC vehicles and COVID volunteers support group .As lockdown is extended in order to facilitate senior citizens this will be done the Madhya Pradesh Department of Social Justice and disabled welfare has started toll free number to help senior citizens during COVID-19 lockdown.
 
If a senior citizen is homeless or they are being abused somewhere in the house or even outside, then there is no need to worry anymore. Elderly, destitute citizens can now give information by calling toll free number 14,567, so that security and necessary services can be provided and looked after by the officials of the departments concerned. It should be mentioned here that the National Helpline (Elder Helpline) has been set up by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and National Social Security Government of India to provide assistance and service to senior citizens. Helpline is being implemented in Madhya Pradesh by the Department of Social Justice and Disabled Welfare through Helpage India Bhopal.
 
In this context, recently, the Additional Collector, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat, Sub-Divisional Officer, Chief Medical and Health Officer, District Education Officer, District Program Officer, Women’s Child Development Department, One Stop Centre for Women’s Empowerment, District Urban Development Agency, District Treasury Officer has been informed as they will be acting as facilitators to help senior citizens even with medical aid if needed.
