30 bed ICU ward available
A 30 bed ICU ward with nine ventilators will start at dedicated Covid Care Centre of Hamidia Hospital. To ensure maximum capacity of 800 beds for treatment of corona patients at Hamidia Hospital, on Friday, Commissioner of Medical Education, Nishant Warwade, Divisional Commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat and Collector Avinash Lavania inspected Hamidia Hospital and reviewed arrangements.
 
In the meeting, it was decided that total 200 new beds will be purchased immediately and will be setup on ninth floor of newly constructed building. Warwade said that High Dependency Units (HDU) beds are most needed for treatment of Covid-19 patients and presently, a total of 540 beds, of all types are available at Hamidia. Before the meeting, Warwade along with the Divisional Commissioner and Collector inspected arrangements at Dedicated Covid Care Centre. The Divisional Commissioner said that arrangements have been made for entertainment of patients and tablets have been provided in each ward so the patients can talk to their families. A call-bell has also been placed on each bed so that the patient can easily call the doctor or nurse. Kiyawat has directed to install air conditioners wherever necessary. CME Nishant Warwade checked attendance register, register of medicines in stock and also sought information of the on-duty staff roster. Warwade said that there are enough doctors at Hamidia Hospital, ensure duties of every doctor through roster system. In the meeting it was also decided that 400 HDU beds with oxygen, 220 beds without oxygen and 180 beds with ICU and ventilators will soon be ready at Hamidia. The officials also reviewed availability of oxygen and power backup and also reviewed facilities for Covid patients.
100-bed Covid Care Centre opens at Pt Khushilal Sharma Hospital
With sudden rise in corona cases, a 100-bed Covid Care Centre will be started at Pt Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic Hospital from Saturday. Collector Avinash Lavania and Divisional Commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat inspected arrangements at the hospital on Friday. Kiyawat reviewed both male and female wards with hospital management. All 100 beds of Covid Care Centre are without oxygen and only patients with mild symptoms of Covid-19 infection will be admitted here. The Commissioner visited all the wards and also inspected restroom and gave instructions to make some simple improvements. Arrangements for entertainment of patients have also been made here. Collector Avinash Lavania enquired about duty roster of doctors and other paramedical staff posted in three shifts. Dr Umesh Shukla and Dr Anju Gupta of Ayurveda Hospital gave information about arrangements. Lavania instructed the CMO that Covid patients with mild symptoms should be admitted to Pt Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic Hospital from Saturday.
