COVID-19 recovery rate in Nagpur district improves to 79.10 per cent

On Thursday, Nagpur district has witnessed further improvement in COVID-19 recoveries. Number of persons becoming corona-free is constantly rising. Today, on the sixth consecutive day, 6,984 persons recovered from COVID-19 taking the cumulative recovery to 3,16,399. The COVID-19 recovery rate also rose to 79.10%. Of course number of recovered persons has still a mismatch with the number of new COVID-19 cases because of which active cases have not reduced today. Today, the cumulative COVID-19 cases have crossed 4 lakh mark. The district reported 7,496 new cases of these, 7 persons are not the residents of district.
 
The figures in Nagpur rural are up as it crossed 3,000 mark. In Nagpur rural, 3,067 persons tested positive for coronavirus while city has registered 4,422 new cases taking the cumulative number to 4,01,326. Of the cumulative cases, 1,227 are not the residents of Nagpur. Number of deaths due to COVID-19 in one single-day has witnessed a fall as 89 succumbed to the dreaded virus. Of the 89 victims, 7 were not the residents of Nagpur district. In Nagpur rural 33 persons succumbed to coronavirus while 49 persons in city died of this virus. This has taken the cumulative death count to 7,496, of these, 1,045 were not the residents of Nagpur district.
 
The testing count in Nagpur district has registered further increase by 4,000. Today’s testing count stood at 26,212. Nagpur rural has reported 7,084 testing while city has reported 19,128 testing. With these the cumulative testing count reached 22,53,039. The samples examined through RTPCR were 20,848 while 5,364 were through Rapid Antigen Test. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (2,402), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (2,200), molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (2,068), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (269), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (647) private laboratories (13,262), Antigen (5,364).
