Congress MLAs raise issue of scarcity of oxygen beds, ventilators in CLP meeting

Congress MLAs express gratitude towards CM for taking decision to carry out free covid-19 vaccination for the age group between 18 and 45 years
 
 
The virtual meeting of Congress Legislative Party (CLP) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday. In the meeting, the Congress Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide free covid vaccination to all people above 18 years of age in State. Senior Congress leader and Raipur Rural MLA Satyanarayan Sharma and other party MLAs expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Baghel for taking the bold decision to carry out the free vaccination drive for the people, whose ages are between 18 and 45 years.
 
Talking to The Hitavada over telephone after the meeting, one Congress MLA on condition of anonymity said that several party MLAs have raised several issues like scarcity of oxygen beds, ventilator, medical staff and technical staff in the hospitals of their Assembly constituencies. The Chief Minister patiently heard the grievances of the MLAs and assured them to resolve them on priority, the MLA added. Bemetara MLA Ashish Kumar Chhabda raised the issue of shortage of ventilators in Bemetara district. MLA Satyanarayan Sharma and other Congress MLAs raised the issue of uniform price for the covid vaccination. Chief Minister Baghel also briefed the party MLAs for taking measures to improve health infrastructures and preventive measures being carried out by the Congress Government to contain the spread of the coronavirus infection. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Baghel said that the Congress Government is taking all measures to contain the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in State.
 
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey and other Cabinet ministers briefed the party MLAs about the development works being carried out by their departments in the meeting. Various other issues were also discussed in detail in the meeting. Several party MLAs gave suggestions to the Chief Minister in the meeting. Earlier, the Congress MLAs had authorised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to use MLA Local Area Development Scheme (MLALADS) fund for the financial year 2021-22 for expensing in free of cost corona vaccination drive, beginning from May 1, for the people aged over 18 years in State. Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Women and Child Development Department Minister Anila Bhendiya, School Education Department Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, MLAs Satyanarayn Sharma, Vikas Upadhyay, Kuldeep Juneja, Amitesh Shukla and other party MLAs attended the meeting.
