Live telecast of the programme ‘Mission Earth’ organised at the Centre for Agriculture Science, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU) was done through webcasting at the Minto Hall, Bhopal. The programme ‘Mission Earth’ was organised with the inspiration of Vice-Chancellor, JNAU, Dr Pradeep Kumar Bisen, under the direction of Director, Extension Services, Dr D P Sharma and guidance of Head, Centre for Agriculture Science, Dr Rashmi Shukla. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan graced the programme as the chief guest while Agriculture Minister, Kamal Patel presided over it.
 
Addressing the programme, Chief Minister, Chouhan guided the farmers to replace their normal routine of agriculture with diversified farming to get better result and income. He emphasised to adopt animal husbandry, horticulture and food processing with their traditional farming. The Chief Minister further emphasised to connect the income received through the plants grown in the nurseries run by self-help groups under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGREGS) with ‘Mission Earth’ and deposit it directly to their accounts.
 
Earlier, scientists from the Centre informed the farmers about summer crop of Moong, insect and pest control in Urad, proper management of nutritional elements, deep tilling during summer, pre-Khariff preparations and soil testing. The farmers were also advised to collect necessary details through Whatsapp. Eminent officers who were present include Dr A K Singh, Dr Neelu Vishwakarma, Dr Akshata Tomar, Dr Nitin Singhai, Dr Pramid Sharma, G G Annie and Ramvishhal Sahu and a large number of farmers. The programme was conducted by Dr D K Singh while Dr Yatiraj Khare proposed a vote of thanks.
