A crucial meeting of owners/directors of hotels, restaurants and marriage halls located in Raipur city was held on Tuesday following an instruction of District Magistrate Dr S Bharathi Dasan. Additional District Magistrate N R Sahu chaired the meeting and said that Section 144 is applicable in the district. According to the provisions of the Section 144, the presence of more than 50 people has been banned in programmes like marriage, Dasagatra and other functions. He told the owners/directors of hotel, restaurants and marriage halls that it is imperative for everyone to follow the Corona Guidelines for the prevention and control of corona infections.

Therefore, a maximum of 50 people in the Marriage Palace should be allowed. DJ or sound amplifiers should not be used in such functions. Owners/directors were instructed not to create unnecessary crowds in their institutions as this can lead to further spike in the cases of corona. This pandemic can be prevented by following the Corona Guidelines issued by the Government. Masks are essentially to be used along with physical distancing, the Additional Collector said. Legal action will be taken if the corona guidelines are violated.

It will be compulsory for the participants to periodically wash or sanitise their hands and obtain permission in writing for the programme as per the rules. Additional Collector Gopal Varma, ASP (city) Lakhan Patle, SDM Pranav Singh, Tehsildar Amit Baig along with owners/ directors of hotels, restaurants and marriage hall were present.
