Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) Commissioner Haresh Mandavi along with officers from the District Administration marched on the streets on the first day of lockdown on Tuesday. They verified the situation of the lockdown and also appealed the people to cooperate in the Covid induced lockdown. Sub Divisional Magistrate Vinay Poyam, Tahsildar Parvati Patel and others were also present during the inspection. It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday morning, the DMC while using the loudspeakers appealed the denizens to stay home and cooperate in the lockdown.
 
The officers stated that it was first day of the lockdown and people must cooperate in the Covid situation. They also said that the administration had to take the decision of the lockdown owing to ever increasing cases of Covid in the Durg district. They also issued warning to the people for following the lockdown sincerely and not to venture out of the homes without any valid reason.
 
Meanwhile on the first day, the effect of lockdown was clearly visible and the denizens while cooperating with the District Administration preferred to stay indoors. Shops and markets too wore deserted look and the officials from the District Administration and DMC administration were seen appealing the denizens to strictly follow the lockdown. The officers appealed to only step out for vaccination, testing or in case of medical emergency.
