DNLU to hold nat’l moot court competition from April 30

To take nation-wide mooting culture to greater heights, the Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, is organising its first national moot court competition, the ‘First Justice G P Singh Memorial National Virtual Moot Court Competition’ between April 30 and May 2. The event has been put together owing to the immense encouragement by Chief Justice, Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of DNLU, Justice Mohammad Rafiq and guidance by Vice-chancellor, Professor Balraj Chauhan, Registrar Anand Kumar Tiwari and Controller of Examination, Dinesh Prasad Mishra. The event has been planned and worked upon under the guidance and support of Associate Professor Dr. Shilpa Jain and Dr. Manwendra K. Tiwari by the Faculty In-charge of the Moot Court Committee, Ankit Srivastava and Faculty Member, Shruti Nandwana.
 
The title of the event reveres Justice G P Singh (1922- 2013), one of the finest and legendary Judges of India was not only former Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court but had also been the Governor of Madhya Pradesh twice, after which he acted as the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Law Commission and Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh. The theme of moot proposition is centred around Corporate Law, Environmental Law and Criminal Law and has been chosen to ensure maximum participation from various recognized Law Universities, owing to the contemporary relevance of these disciplines for law students.
 
The event will witness the participation of law students of various National Law Universities and institutes of legal prominence nationwide. The event will be conducted virtually, and the performance of students will be adjudicated by persons with significant contribution and remarkable presence in the field of law.
