NIT, Raipur holds two-day virtual ICRE-2021

Amidst this tough time, the Chemical Engineering Department of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur has been successful in organising a two-day virtual International Conference on Reaction Engineering (ICRE-2021) from May 7 to 8, 2021. With the sheer effort and dedication of the organising committee, 6 different sessions were held in two days which marked the presence of 2 eminent speakers from Abroad and 1 speaker from India. The Chief guest for the event was the Dean of Mechanical Engineering Department Dr S Sanyal. The first day’s special guest as well as the keynote speaker was Dr Ranil Wickramsinghe, Distinguished Professor, University of Arkansas, USA.
 
The second keynote lecture on Day-1 was delivered by Dr Akshat Taksale from Monash University, Australia. The second day’s keynote speaker was Prof Vimal Shrivastava, Head Chemical Engineering Department of IIT, Roorkee. In this event, various scholars and faculties participated from different IITs and NITs. 105 research scholars sent their abstracts to participate in the conference, of which 61 participants got an opportunity to present their abstracts online. Out of these, 30 got selected to be published in the International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering which is an SCI Indexed journal. Harish Kumar from IIT, Madras secured first place in paper presentation. Dr A B Soni, Dr Dharm Pal, Dr P K Chaudhary, Dr Amit Keshav and the entire Chemical Engineering Department organised the event under the direction of HoD Dr A K Poonia. Finally, Dr A M Rawani, Director, NIT, Raipur, who was also the Chief guest of the valedictory function, concluded the event by encouraging all the participants and organisers.
