With good number of persons becoming free from coronavirus in Nagpur district, the number of active cases is going down. The recovery rate too is constantly going up. The gap between number of recovery and number of single day new cases is also increasing with number of persons recovered are on high. On Tuesday, 6,725 persons recovered from coronavirus while 2,243 tested positive for the COVID-19, so the difference has become visible. The good number of single day recovery of 6,725 has taken the cumulative number to close to 4 lakh.
 
The recovery rate has reached 87.91% while cumulative recovery reached 3,98,994. Active cases have come down to 46,596. The district has witnessed further fall in number of new COVID-19 cases as 2,243 came positive for the virus on Tuesday. Of the 2,243 single day cases, 14 persons who tested positive for the virus are not the residents of district. Cases in Nagpur rural are constantly reducing and today only 866 persons tested positive in rural while city reported 1,363 cases. This has taken the cumulative positive cases to 4,53,848. Of the cumulative cases 1,371 are not the residents of district. Number of COVID 19 deaths in one single day had witnessed fall on Monday. But on Tuesday it again went up to 65, of those, 14 were not the residents of Nagpur district. In Nagpur rural, 19 persons became victims to coronavirus while 32 persons died of this virus in city.
 
With these the cumulative death count reached 8,193. Of the cumulative deaths, 1,189 were not the residents of Nagpur district. The COVID testing in Nagpur district is reduced reduced by 1,000. District has reported 14,464 testing on Tuesday. Nagpur rural has registered 4,696 testing while city’s testing count stood at 9,768 taking the cumulative testing count to 24,91,081. The samples examined through RT PCR were 11,451 while 3,013 were through Rapid Antigen Test. Apart from the samples of Nagpur district, the people from Nagpur and out of city approached various laboratories in Nagpur to get themselves examined. The samples came for examination at various laboratories in Nagpur include virology laboratory of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) (899), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) (1,556), molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) (982), National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) (159), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (436) private laboratories (7,419), Antigen (3,013). 
 
1,640 oxygen, 203 ICU, 8 Ventilator beds available The improvement in availability of beds continued without much change as infection that had spiked to all time high during last month is now coming down rapidly. About 1640 oxygenated beds were available at Dedicated Covid Hospitals and Covid Care Centres while 203 ICU beds also vacant at the hospitals. Now, one more goods news is that about eight ventilator beds were available with the hospital in the morning by 10 am when the position was taken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). 
 
District gets 2,973 Remdesivir injections The district continued to get substantial stock of Remdesivir injection that was in high demand during the peak of COVID-19. on Tuesday, a stock of 2,973 injections were received from the companies in pursuant to directions given by Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court. With most of hospitals not registering for Remdesivir, the district administration gave almost cent per cent allocation vis-a-vis beds at DCHs where 4,467 beds are listed. Now that alternative medicines available, the dependency on Remdesivir is reducing, it seems.
