In order to ensure compliance of Covid-19 protocol, Railways has started a campaign to charge penalty on passengers found without mask in trains or station premises. Continuing the same, West Central Railway (WCR) has charged penalty of Rs 1,16,550 against 1,127 passengers in April. All the three divisional offices of WCR are continuously working to make passengers as well as vendors, parcel porters and employees to use mask on mandatory basis and also maintain social distancing.
 
Regular announcement is being made at stations and advertisement is being released. Posters have been also displayed and regular message is being shared by Railway for Covid protocol. However, a few people are being spotted by the Railway team without a mask and they are being charged penalty. According to Railway records, Rs 1,16,550 has been charged as penalty on 1,127 passengers during April. This includes 512 passengers from Jabalpur division, 306 passengers from Bhopal division and 309 passengers from Kota division.
 
To maintain social distancing at stations ticket checking staff and RPF team has been assigned. Announcement is being made at stations for regular hand sanitisation, social distancing, face mask and other safety protocol. At entry gate, passengers are passing through thermal screening. Regular sanitisation and cleanliness is being held in all corners of stations and trains including circulating area, waiting hall, platforms, booking office, parcel office, concourse area etc. Railway has urged passengers to use mask otherwise they will be charged penalty range from Rs 100 to 500.
