Taking serious note of Black Fungus infection Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed health officials to ensure availability of medicines for control of Black Fungus infection in all districts of State. Black fungus is a kind of fungal infection taking place in patients who were cured from Covid. Posaconazole and Amphotericin B medicines are required for treatment. As per directives of Chief Minister, Controller of Food and Drug Administration has instructed all Drug Controllers posted in different districts of state to ensure availability of Posaconazole and Amphotericin B medicines in districts. He has also ordered to furnish information of stock available on daily basis with wholesaler, stockist and Clearing and Forwarding (C and F) Agents.
 
Drug controllers have been asked to circulate the information to all medical stores in their respective areas. Meanwhile, Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, TS Singhdeo virtually inaugurated Virology Lab at Koriya District Headquarters Baikunthpur for RTPCR examination of Corona samples on Wednesday. RTPCR testing facility has been made available in ten government labs of the state. With the increase in the number of RTPCR investigations every day, people will also start getting reports soon. With the introduction of Virology Lab at Baikunthpur, there are now two centers for RTPCR examination of corona samples in Surguja Division. Ambikapur Medical College already has the facility of RTPCR investigation. In the virtual launch program of Baikunthpur Virology Lab, Urban Administration Minister and in-charge of Koriya district, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahria, Parliamentary Secretary Dr Ambika Singhdeo, MP Jyotsna Mahant, MLA Gulab Kamro and Dr Vinay Jaiswal were also present. In his address Health Minister Singhdeo said that it is the first virology lab in the state to be established in the district headquarters other than medical colleges.
 
It will be operated under the Chief Medical and Health Officer of the district. A better investigation of Corona infection from the virology lab will be done locally in a short time. This new facility will speed up the identification of Corona infection and provide timely treatment to them. He expressed gratitude for the services of nurses across the state working with dedication in the challenging times of global pandemic Covid-19 on International Nurses Day. He said that nurses are our frontline warriors who are continuously working to save the lives of patients and improve their health. Urban Administration Minister and in-charge of Koriya district, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahria, thanked Health Minister Singhdeo for setting up Virology Lab and Oxygen Plant at Baikunthpur.
 
He said that the people of the region will be benefited from their establishment in remote areas. He also underlined the contribution of nurses on International Nurses Day. Mayor of Chirmiri Municipality, Kanchan Jaiswal, Collector of Koriya SN Rathore, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Rameshwar Sharma, Director of Medical Education Department, Dr RK Singh, along with Dr Vishnu Dutt, Dean of Raipur Medical College, Dr Anudita Bhargava of AIIMS Raipur and Dr Kamlesh Jain, Nodal Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases, attended the program from the officer-staff video conference of Baikunthpur Virology Lab.
